Camera Obscura Tours
Daily @ 12:00 & 14:00 (weather dependant)
Have you ever taken a tour of the city while standing on one spot? Join us on one of our Camera Obscura tours for a 360° view of the surrounding area. Listen out for announcements to join the tour.

Science Show
Daily @ 13:00
Some call it magic, we call it science. Our daily Science Shows will excite while nurturing awareness that science is a part of our daily lives.

Workshops

Saturday, 4 February

11:00 – Temperaments of Tectonic Plates (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) Learn about how the movement of tectonic plates affects the earth and make an erupting volcano.

15:00 – Does Size Matter? (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) Using balloons and nails, enjoy a very loud demonstration about the relationship between pressure, volume and surface area.

Sunday, 5 February

11:00 – Scary Scarecrows (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) Have you ever driven past a farm and seen the scary man standing in the fields? What is a scarecrow and how does it work? Make a scarecrow to take home with you.

15:00 – Why is the Sky Blue? (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) Using water, torches and lenses we explain why the sky appears blue during the day and how we get such beautiful sunsets.

Saturday, 11 February

11:00 – Sink or Swim (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) What’s the difference between a peeled and unpeeled orange when you drop them in water? Ever wondered why it is easier to float in salt water? Join us and find out!

15:00 – Earth Day Hangman (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) We are celebrating our Earth! Come and test your spelling skills with this fun themed game.

Sunday, 12 February

11:00 – Sea in a Bottle (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) Mimic the ocean in a small bottle and learn about the relationship between salt, water and oil in the ocean.

15:00 – Focus on the Earth (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) Test your memory and quick-thinking while learning about the earth.

Saturday, 18 February

11:00 – The Circle of Life (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) How does the energy from the sun become energy that we use to run and play? Learn about how energy is transferred between organisms and why keystone organisms are so important.

15:00 – Quicksand (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) What are the different components of our soil? How is quicksand formed? How do you escape quicksand? Learn all this while playing with homemade quicksand!

Sunday, 19 February

11:00 – Animal Diversity (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) Learn about the importance of animal diversity and discover what keystone species are.

15:00 – Changing Environments (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) What is biodiversity? Why do different animals live in different places? Why is this important? Learn about all this and more!

Saturday, 25 February

11:00 – Ascending Tea Bags (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) Learn about the power of wind using simple tea bag.

15:00 – Rotation of the Earth, Sun and Moon (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) A fascinating look at what makes a day or a year on earth, why the moon changes shape, and just how big the sun is.

Sunday, 26, February

11:00 – Craters (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) Learn how craters are formed, where you can find craters on earth, and why they are so interesting. Messy fun, bring a change of clothes.

15:00 – Cloud in a bottle (Suitable for all ages ● entry fee only) Weather is complicated – but you can easily learn about it and make your own cloud in a bottle.
